About Hockey U

Hockey U - Hockey Warm Up - Enjoy hockey, with fewer injuries

Hockey U is a complete hockey warm-up app to reduce injuries amongst all players. The programme can be performed, as a standard warm-up, at the start of training and before a match. It takes around 20 minutes to complete. For all exercises, correct performance is of great importance, please use the instructions to help.

The app and programme was developed by me, Tom Johnston, as part of a postgraduate (PhD) study and tested on hockey players. I am a hockey player, including for Scotland Veterans, turned hockey coach (up to and including international level) and coach educator and have seen many hockey injuries and warm up routines. Recently, I have used this experience in a research context to try and reduce non contact injuries. In my research for my PhD, I found that neuromuscular training can significantly help.

Now, with this app, I hope others can benefit from this knowledge and enjoy hockey for longer and maybe even perform a bit better!
