White Nights novel is a completely new and improved version that differs from all available versions

White Nights (Russian: елые ночи) is a short story written by Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky. The story is one of his first works, and was first published in 1848. Like many of Dostoyevsky's works, the story is told from the perspective of the anonymous narrator, and in the story the narrator lives in Saint Petersburg, and he suffers from loneliness. This story is considered one of his best short stories and has been shown in cinemas in Russia, Italy, France, America, India and Iran.

The main theme of the story is the relationship between the narrator - the main character whose name is unknown - and his recently known girlfriend, Nastinka. The narrator falls in love with Nastinka, but he does not acknowledge his love for her, at a time when Nastinka is deeply in love with another man who refuses to respond to her letters. Both of them escape from a feeling of despair to this friendly friendship, the narrator escapes from his loneliness and Nastanka escapes from her half-hearted relationship with her lover. Nastinka asks the narrator to help her write letters to her lover, and she does not know that the narrator loves her too much, but rather tells him: “I love you, because you did not fall in love with me.” Because of his intense love for her, the narrator begins to feel alienated in her company, because he is forced to pretend that he does not love her. When her lover does not respond to her messages, Nastinka feels despondent, especially since her lover lives in the same city, so she turns to her friend, perhaps comforting her, which prompts the narrator to be open to her of his love for her. At first, Nastinka feels confused, which is not expected by the narrator, and then he feels that after this incident he will not be able to continue his friendship with her, so he insists not to see her again, but she asks him to stay. The two go out to the street, and she tells him that their relationship may one day turn into a romantic relationship, and she clearly wants his friendship in her life, so the narrator feels reassured that he was able to maintain the friendship at least. While walking on the street they encounter a man, the man turns to Nastinka and calls her, and it turns out that he is her lover who is correspondent with him, so she jumps into his arms with joy, and returns to the narrator to give him a quick kiss, but she continues her night in the company of her beloved, leaving the narrator alone and with emotions.
