Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov (Russian: Хабиб Абдулманапович Нурмагомедов; Avar; born 20 September 1988) is a professional Russian mixed martial artist of Avar ethnic descent. Nurmagomedov is the Sambo Combat World Champion and the two-time lightweight UFC Champion. He currently holds the longest unbeaten record in MMA, with 27 wins, and remains unbeaten in professional MMA. He came from the Dagestan region of Russia, and was the first Russian and the first Muslim to win the UFC title. His biggest battle with Conor McGregor at UFC 229 attracted 2.4 million pay-per-view, the most for MMA shows. As of January 2, 2019, he is ranked third in UFC pounds-for-pounds.
