User Virtual Queue

Eliminates the problem of waiting in queues at public service places.

The main objective of this application is to reduce the difficulty of people standing and waiting in the queues at public service places where they might have some work. Whenever people visit banks, hospitals or any other public service centres, they have to stand and wait for a while before it’s their turn to get their works done, as there might be a long-standing queue. This could be difficult for a person as they have to remain at the same place for so long which makes this whole process extremely tedious causing mental and physical weariness. This is also a huge waste of time.\nSo, we have devised a solution to overcome this problem, of standing or waiting in the queues, using a simple mobile application. Using this mobile application, the user does not have to stand in the queue at all, but he or she can still be in the queue which we call ‘The Virtual Queue’.

The functionality of this ‘User Virtual Queue’ is very elementary. Once the user reaches the place, he must open the application and make sure that his or her mobile is connected to the internet. Then, he is asked to enter the ‘Queue Code’. ‘Queue Code’ is the code that is unique to a specific queue at a place. Now the user must have the knowledge of the queue in which he would like to be a member of. When he has decided to be a member of a specific queue, he should enter the ‘Queue Code’ of that particular queue and click on ‘Enter the Queue’. This ‘Queue Code’ is provided by the manager of that place. Once the user clicks on ‘Enter the Queue’, it gets validated and he is navigated to a new page. In the new page, he should click on ‘Join the Queue’ button and enter his name. Upon joining, the user could see a list of names of people who are in that particular queue at the given time along with his own name in the list. This list gets updated frequently as new people join or when some names are removed by Manager. A user’s name at the top of the list means it is their turn. One can also exit the queue if one sees fit. In this way, the user can keep track of the queue list and see where he stands in the list.
