Pakoban Tumpeng Hunt

Tumpeng is a cone-shaped Indonesian rice dish with side dishes of vegetables and meat. Traditionally featured in various ceremony, the rice is made by using a cone-shaped woven bamboo container. The rice itself may be plain steamed rice, uduk rice (cooked with coconut milk), or yellow rice (uduk rice colored with turmeric).

Pakoban Tumpeng Hunt is an Augmented Reality mini game which featured at Pakoban 7 Comic (Pakoban stands for Pasar Komik Bandung – Bandung Comic Market) event which held at 5-6 May 2018.

The players required to hunt down Tumpeng side dishes (and also its ‘main’ rice) around the venue by scanning spread markers to create up to 3 Tumpengs (30 items in total). Tumpeng commonly featured in various celebration among friends and families, and its cone shape calls back to symbols of balance between humanity and the greater being above. The presence of it in this event hopefully will bind strangers together and creates new friends and families, more than just an event of exhibition and economical buy-and-sell activities.
