Inside Gather you will find many interesting campaigns. Adopt a tree, report corruption, interview your neighbours, track dangerous roads. Anyone who wants to help out in their community can do a lot just by being a Gatherer.

The app contains campaigns that invite us to report problems that we experience every day.

For example if you see pollution in your area, you can submit a report. Because you are making the effort to document a problem, (rather than complain about it) you are helping to make a community map and provide the needed information to do something about it.

Most of us "report" about good restaurants and shops so that people can easily find and learn about them. But how many of us do the same for our local issues? Pollution, harassment, dangerous roads, stray dogs and cats - if we all report these things properly the story is told and the solutions becomes apparent.

Gather is inspired by the many community mapping and citizen reporting projects worldwide which have had enormous benefits. However there are so many different ones, and it takes such effort to set them up, that doing community mapping is not yet a natural everyday activity for the majority of people. Gather worked to create a system that enables any organization, big or small, to create and publish a gathering campaign with very low effort and cost. This means that the people can have one place they come to in order to report and support any community issue.

If you work with a social benefit organization you can create a campaign to include in Gather, and bring the ability to participate to your crowd of supporters.

So download the app, get out there, and next time you encounter something that upsets you, violates your rights, or ought to be changed... make a gather report and you will be supporting your community in working to make things better.
