Welcome to fetotal.com. Fetotal is happy to launch the application MelTemp. The application is helpful to calculate the melting point of steel and cast iron. Both, steel and cast iron, are the alloys of iron. The melting point of both alloys vary with alloying elements such as C, Si, Mn, S, P, Ni, Cr, Mo, etc. The present application captures the effect of these alloying elements on melting point. One can obtain the representative melting point of an alloy using mathematical models incorporated in the application. The values should only be used for academic interest. By obtaining melting point, one can decide the superheat required during melting. The application may be useful in optimizing the melting operation.
