Salmo 90

Great Psalm

"1. Lord, you are our refuge, always, from generation to generation.

2. Before the mountains were born and you created the earth and the world, from eternity to eternity you are God.

3. You make men return to dust, saying: “Return to dust, human beings!”

4. Indeed, a thousand years to you are like yesterday that is past, like the hours of night.

5. Like a current, you drag men; they are brief as sleep, they are like the grass that sprouts at dawn;

6. It germinates and sprouts in the morning, but in the afternoon it withers and dries up.

7. We are consumed by your anger and terrified by your fury.

8. You know our iniquities; our secret sins do not escape in the light of your presence.

9. All our days pass under your fury; they go away like a murmur.

10. The years of our life reach seventy, or eighty for those who are more vigorous, however, they are difficult years and full of suffering, because life passes quickly, and we fly!

11. Who knows the power of your anger? For your fury is as great as the fear due to you.

12. Teach us to number our days so that our heart may reach wisdom.

13. Return, Lord! How long will it be like this? Have mercy on your servants!

14. Satisfy us in the morning with your loyal love, and all our days we will sing happily.

15. Give us joy for the time you have afflicted us, for the years we have suffered so much.

16. Thy deeds be manifest unto thy servants, and thy splendor unto their children!

17. May the goodness of our Sovereign God be upon us. It consolidates, for us, the work of our hands. Consolidate the work of our hands!”
