Salmo 76

Great Psalm

1 In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel.

2 His tent is in Salem; his dwelling place is in Zion.

3 There he broke the glittering arrows, the shields and the swords, the weapons of war.

4 Shines with light! You are more majestic than the mountains full of spoils.

5 Mighty men lie plundered, sleep the final sleep; none of the warriors were able to raise their hands.

6 At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, the horse and the chariot stopped.

7 You alone are fearsome. Who can stand before you when you are angry?

8 Thou didst pronounce judgment from heaven, and the earth trembled and was silent,

9 when you, O God, rose up to judge, to save all the oppressed of the earth.

10 Even your wrath against men will result in your praise, and the survivors of your wrath will refrain.

11 Make vows to the Lord your God, and do not fail to do them; let all neighboring nations bring gifts whom all should fear.

12 He takes away the courage of rulers and is feared by the kings of the earth.
