You can also enter your text and translate it to the way that you would show the Semaphore flags. After entering your text, you can scroll down and see your text to practice your flags or learn how to spell words with the flags. This area of the app is not 100% complete but I decided to add it for now to show what will be coming in the next release of the app. I will also add a International Flags and Pennants translator in a future release.

Semaphore Flags is the system for conveying information at a distance by means of visual signals with hand-held flags, rods, disks, paddles, or occasionally bare or gloved hands. Information is encoded by the position of the flags; it is read when the flag is in a fixed position.

The International Code of Signals (ICS) is an international system of signals and codes for use by vessels to communicate important messages regarding safety of navigation and related matters.

The system of international maritime signal flags is one system of flag signals representing individual letters of the alphabet in signals to or from ships. It is a component of the International Code of Signals (ICS). They can also be called International Flags and Pennants.
