The app alerts are from USGS data for past 1 Day. You have alerts in the List by clicking there is detailed dialog. The mapview can be accessed from menu, can track earthquakes happening near your location. You can get location and depth.
The Time is in UTC so that its uniform across countries, should convert to Local time zone (Ex In California PDT is UTC-7 or PST is UTC-8).
