A STEAM game released in 2018, after 2 years, has gained popularity and received millions of downloads and decent reviews. This is the Among Us developed by Innersloth, a small company based in Washington with only three founding members.
Among Us is a multiplayer social deception game that you can play with friends or worldwide online players. The gameplay is similar to Trouble in Terrorist and Werewolf - If you play as the imposter, you need to deceive, sabotage crewmates' missions and kill them to win the game.
The game supports 4 to 10 gamers playing together online or via local WIFI, with 1-3 of them playing as Imposters and the rest as the innocent Crewmates. The ultimate mission of this game is that, of course, imposters try to kill crewmates without being caught. After you launch the game, players will land on a spaceship, and each has got their own missions and different tasks.
The biggest difference with Werewolf Kill is that rather than just talking about roles all the way and trying to disguising through discussions, Among us gives more activities for gamers to do on the spaceship, like playing mini-games, and fixing the spaceship, etc. Even getting killed can not end the game, these crewmates will turn into ghosts to carry out their unfinished tasks.
When you see crewmates suddenly being killed, you can press the button and start an emergency meeting. All will gather together to discuss who are the most potential imposters, and the player having the highest number of votes will be thrown out of the game. If most gamers choose to skip the vote, then no one will be voted out of this round.
How to win the game? Well, the crewmates will win the game if they are able to vote out all the imposters. However, it doesn't seem that easy. The imposters can destroy machines and kill the crewmates. If crewmates don't finish all the required tasks within the limited time or the number of crewmates reduces to the same number of imposters, the latter will win the game.
In addition to addictive gameplay, Among us also features cartoony graphics and clean UI. Players can easily be distinguished by colors. If you love Werewolf or other social deduction games, then you should definitely try this game.
