Rádio Cidade 103.5 MHz - Campos Sales

In 1985, the first means of mass communication in the region was created in Campos Sales: Radio Cidade Am de Comunicação, from the Patriolino Ribeiro Group, from Fortaleza.

Grupo Patriolino Ribeiro, holder of the Cidade de Comunicação System in Fortaleza, at the time, had radio stations in some municipalities in the interior of Ceará, radios in Fortaleza, in addition to TV Cidade.

In Campos Sales, the Cidade de Comunicação System arrived, thanks to the involvement of the radio host, Danúbio José, who encouraged the arrival of this enterprise in the area of ​​communication.

It was Danúbio José who mediated the purchase of land and other details that made it possible to install Radio Cidade FM in this municipality.

Under the direction of the businessman, Miguel Dias, who later received the title of Citizen Campossalense, for the feat of investing in communication in Campos Sales, Radio Cidade, would be, about two to three years later, sold to the doctor, Paulo Ney Martins, who until today owns the station.

After a month on the air, on an experimental basis, on August 23, 1985, radio Cidade officially began its programming, with the first employees being: Abelardo Martins, Roberto Nunes, Danúbio José, Venuilton Dias, Antônio Francisco (Tony Franco ) and Carlos Alberto, as announcers, in addition to Luís Péricles, as administrative director; Chagas Souza, Jonas and Creuza, as audio operators and as maintenance technician, Elias Cruz.

In addition to all the music and sports programming, the broadcaster, Carlos Alberto, presented the station's first journalistic program, with the title: Mágoas do Povo, which was presented throughout the week, at noon.

One of the highlights during the channel's trajectory, in its programming grid, was the program: Forró do Danubão, which mixed the northeastern rhythm with news, in the presentation of Danúbio José.

From August 23, 1985 until today, Cidade AM radio in Campos Sales, had two frequencies on the dial: first 1480kHz and finally 630kHz, which was modified under the command of the second owner of the station, the doctor Paulo Ney Martins.

Radio Cidade AM de Campos Sales, in these 36 years to be completed on August 23, 2021, has never been off the air, except for the maintenance of its equipment, or for accidents caused by nature, in the case of lightning that, in rainy periods, they reach its tower, over 100 meters high.

After the doctor, Paulo Ney Martins, bought the rights to commercially exploit the station's concession, the managing director, Marilene Santiago, took over and until today runs the company.

In these 36 years on the air, Cidade AM radio in Campos Sales has been a credibility reference in journalism, sports and entertainment, having participated, through the various professionals who have worked for the station, in the coverage of important social, sports and political events, throughout the region and municipalities of neighboring states, such as Piauí and Pernambuco, since its reach reaches a radius of about 300 square kilometers, due to its low frequency of 630 kHz.

Today, with the change implemented by the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Communications, to end the Medium Wave frequency cycle, putting an end to the analogue signal in communications, radio Cidade AM in Campos Sales, is already in the process of migrating to use of Modulated Frequency (FM), which should be implemented shortly, following the steps determined by the Ministry of Communications, when it will end its history in AM and will have a new frequency and better sound quality in FM, with digital quality.
