Androcles, a Greek slave, escaped from his master and fled into the forest. There he came across a lion with a wounded paw. He nursed the lion and they become good friends.

Destiny intervened. The slave Androcles was taken away by his master and sentenced to a savage punishment. The master threw him in front of a hungry, ferocious lion - the same lion whom he had nursed one day.

The lion rushed bounding and roaring towards Androcles....!
