The curriculum is designed so that students' knowledge increases, their skills also increase, and their personalities become nobler. There is an inseparable unity between knowledge, skills and attitudes.

This integrity must be reflected in the learning of Religious Education and Character. Through the realm of knowledge, it is hoped that good social and spiritual attitudes will be formed, as well as skills related to how to position oneself, behave and act in every interaction with fellow humans, anytime, anywhere and with anyone. A spiritual attitude that concerns how to glorify the relationship with God as Creator and how to glorify the relationship with nature and the surrounding environment, is also an important thing that must be achieved in learning.

Prophet Kongzi said that anyone who can incorporate the five things into their habits, wherever they are, will be a virtuous person. The five things are "Respectful, open-hearted, trustworthy, agile and generous. People who act respectfully will not be insulted; who is open-hearted, will certainly get general sympathy; who can be trusted, will definitely gain people's trust; who is deft, will surely succeed in his work; and those who are generous will surely obey his orders." (Lúnyǔ. XVII chapter 6).

The development of character and manners is the focus in religious education learning. The key word for character is action, not just knowledge that students must remember, so the learning process must lead them from knowledge about goodness, then create a commitment to goodness, and finally actually do goodness. This Class X Confucian Religion and Character Education book was written in that spirit.
