New to the Navy answers questions new Sailors have upon joining the Navy.
An Official US Navy mobile application, produced by the Navy PMW 240 Program
Welcome to the Navy! The New to the Navy mobile application is for those Sailors (Enlisted and Officers) who are fresh out of Boot Camp or Officer Candidate School and ready to report to their first command. In addition, this application provides important information to aid the transition from civilian to military spouse.
The app is a Navy Pay and Personnel subset of the Career Life Events (CLE) information found on My Navy Portal (MNP) soon to be released in 2017 and answers common questions new Sailors may have on pay and personnel matters as they transfer to a school or to their duty station. The content has been organized topically to answer frequently asked questions and steer new Sailors to official references, procedures, methods for avoiding mistakes, and pertinent points of contact.
Sample questions covered in this app include:
• How do I ship my household goods or personal vehicle to my new duty station?
• What types of receipts must I keep when I’m on official travel?
• I am about to get married -- how do I acquire dependent ID cards?
• Where can I learn how to manage Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders? Transfers? Overseas assignments?
The New to the Navy app answers these types of questions and many more under the broad topics listed below.
