The band is popular with the stage costumes and the face is in the thick makeup paint was formed in New York 1972. Early career, they never appear without makeup so no one knows their true face. They also often feature unique stage attractions such as spraying fire from the mouth and firework effects.

Kiss was formed by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley after they left Wicked Lester. Kiss's own name was inspired by a New York Dolls song entitled Looking for a Kiss.

Their first album was released in 1974 under the title KISS sold less than the target. Their second album HOTTER THAN HELL also suffered a fate that is not much different. But despite the lack of success in album sales, the name Kiss quickly soared due to their spectacular stage performance.

Just as they released the live album ALIVE !, their luck began to change. This album had won 4 platinum.

Around 1983, Kiss decided to take off the makeup they've been wearing. LICK IT UP album that dirils the same year featuring the 4 personnel without makeup on the album cover. This album had won the gold record in sales figures.

Finally, Kiss was recorded with Paul Stanley formations, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer after Peter Criss and Ace Frehley resigned from Kiss.
