The governing body of Jamshedpur Sporting Association (JSA) for 2016-2020 has been approved and announced by Sunil Bhaskaran, president of Jamshedpur Sporting Association and vice-president (Corporate Services) Tata Steel.The new governing body of JSA (2016-2020) includes president Sunil Bhaskaran, working president Farzan R Heerjee, vice-presidents B D Bodhanwala, Biren R Bhuta, and Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, secretary Avinash Kumar, assistant secretary Binod Kumar Singh, treasurer Prashant Dinda, and chairman football committee S Zubair Alam.The other members of the JSA governing body include G B Singh, S B Singh, Indranil Choudhary, Firoz Khan, Awtar Singh, Rishad Chinoy, Hassan Imam and the district sports officer (as nominated).Significantly, JSA comprises of 36 clubs of the region and the elections, which were supposed to be held in March 2016 when the four-year term of the governing body ended, have been held around two months late.The JSA football league is held in May-June every year and elaborate preparations are made much earlier, but as the elections were held late there are possibilities that the league might also start a bit late as the qualifying matches which are organized in January or February have not been held.Tata Steel patronizes JSA and handles most of its affairs, including the groundwork for the smooth conduct of the league. Jamshedpur Sporting Association league is a six-decade-old tournament were young players wait for the league as it is a stepping stone for any player.
