Hujjatul Islam, Imam Al-Ghazali said that the devil was once the

named according to the place of residence in the sky.

Those living in the sky who first referred to as al-Abid (expert

worship), in the sky that they are called az-Zahid. In the third heaven,

it is called al-Arif. In the fourth heaven, his name is al-Wali.

In the fifth heaven, it is called at-Taqi. In the sixth sky name

called al-Khazin. In the seventh heaven it is called Azazil and during

1000 Year of them diligently obey non stop worshiping prostrate to Allah,

even became Sayyidu angel (prince or leader of the

Angel).
