The Deccan Club

Rao Bahadur Varada Raj Mudaliar (late) and his friends late Mr.Fazullah, Dr.M.G.Naidu, (late) Mr.Tata Char, Devan Bahadur Venugopal Mudaliar, Dr.Jaisoorya were founder members of the present prestigeous Deccan Club, established in the year 1900. The establishment of the Club was dramatic. Sri Varada Raj Mudaliar happened to go to Poona on his personal work annd accidentally visited the Poona's Deccan Gymkhana Club. After his return he discussed with his freinds and close associates to start a Club in Secunderabad as many diginitories of twin cities were denied membership in the only existing Secunderabad Club which was dominated by the Military Officers and was a purely Army Officers Club.
