Punitha Ohm is run by Muthaiahpillai_Mariammal Educational & Charitable Trust was founded and is administered by Thiru.V.M. Lakshmana Perumal to cater to the educational needs of the children in the locality.

The institution's growth trajectory during the past 21 years has been incredible. The results of the students in the X std public (Matriculation) Examination bear testimony to this fact. Invariably, the results have been a centum or thereabouts. Our students have emerged rank-holders as well in science and Mathematics with a centum. We always maintain a sterling character of our students. This year (2010-11) we do hope that the result in the X std Public Metric Examination would be a centum.
