Anthropology is a scientific discipline that studies humans as a whole, both from their biological and social and cultural aspects. It is a meeting of the social sciences and humanities. As a continuation of the Grade 11 Anthropology Book, this book presents the basics of anthropological knowledge while training students on methods of thinking anthropologically. So, through studying anthropology, students can introduce the profile of Pancasila students amidst the challenges of a multicultural society.

This class XII Anthropology book contains six topics, namely (i) socio-cultural anthropology (ii) culture, (iii) socio-cultural systems; (iv) social organization: family and kinship; (v) cultural inheritance and change; and (vi) cultural diversity and national integration. This book is used jointly by teachers and students in learning activities.

Even though secondary reading sources have been written, in this book students should also suffice by reading ethnographic works from primary sources or books from anthropologists, some of which have been described in this book. Although this book cannot necessarily take over students' field experiences or ethnographic experiences. However, this book can at least frame and become a road map for students in studying anthropology.

This book is prepared in line with learning outcomes which emphasize the formation of aspects of knowledge, skills, attitudes, which are integrated in material discussions, worksheets, enrichment, anthropology corners, and assessments that emphasize Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The Pancasila Student Profile is substantially included in the discussions and worksheets in this book which elaborate on four main issues: environmental awareness, digital security, and literacy.

The author would like to thank the various parties who contributed, especially the Pusbuk Kemendikbudristek, which has given a special mandate, the reviewers, editors, illustrators, in completing this book. “There is no ivory that is not cracked,” the saying goes. This book still has cracks - shortcomings. Therefore, it is very open and needs to be continuously improved. The author invites readers to provide criticism, suggestions and input for solutions for improvements and improvements in the next edition.

Hopefully this application can be useful and become a loyal friend in the teaching and learning process at all times.
