This application was created as a companion to be used with short prayers like the Jesus Prayer "Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me a sinner." The name of Jesus is at the heart of Christian prayer. The tradition has its scriptural roots in the prayer of the Publican who prays in humility "Lord have mercy on me, a sinner" (Luke 18:10-14). In addition to the Jesus Prayer other short prayers are included. The Jesus Prayer also known as Prayer of the Heart amongst Orthodox Christians fulfils St Paul's demand to "Pray without ceasing" 1 Thessalonians.
