Memorial Baptist Church

On November 30, 1956, at the higher end of what would later be the Monumental Axis of Brasilia's Pilot Plan, met ministers Elias Brito Sobrinho and Silas Brito Lopes, the missionary James Everett Jr. and Musgrave brother Marcelino Cardoso to dream implantation of the Gospel in the future capital of Brazil.

In January 1957, the Musgrave missionary and brother Waldemar Magalhães came from Goiânia (GO) for the purpose of starting the job Baptist, which began in the Free City (work camp of the new Capital), a shack with a Bible School.

Deacon American Baptist Maxey Jarman, to learn, in 1958, construction of the new Brazilian capital, donated $ 300,000.00 (three hundred thousand dollars) for the construction of a temple in the Pilot Plan.

In May 1960 began the works of construction of the temple, before the organization of the Memorial Baptist Church, which occurred on July 22, 1960, some of its 44 graduates founders of GDP in Brasilia.

The temple was inaugurated on December 15, 1962; the Church had then with less than 200 members. The Memorial Baptist Church is part of the role of the Churches of the Baptist Convention of the Federal District and the Brazilian Baptist Convention.

The Memorial Baptist Church of Brasilia has nearly 2000 members.
