The story revolves around the feelings of the young Prince of Denmark, Hamlet, who feels that he must avenge his father's death. When he sees the gravedigger Hamlet throwing the skull of York, who was working as a clown in his father's court, he begins to confront the reality of death. Hamlet. It is likely that Hamlet was first shown in 1601 AD and was first published in 1603 AD. Prince Hamlet mourns the loss of his recently deceased father, and also resents his mother's second marriage to his uncle Claudius, who succeeded his father on the throne. The prince appears to his father's ghost and tells him that Claudius killed him, and the ghost asks Hamlet to take revenge on the new king. Hamlet ponders the matter of believing in the ghost. In his soliloquy, he blames himself for not opposing the king, and contemplates the consequences and benefits of suicide. Hamlet decides that a roving group of actors will play a story similar to that of his father's murder in front of Claudius, in order to test the latter's reaction. This is what actually happened, as the king's intense emotion reveals his involvement in the crime. Hamlet misses an opportunity to kill Claudius as he kneels to pray. Polonius, the king's advisor, decides to eavesdrop during the prince's visit to his mother in her chamber, and hides behind the curtain. But Hamlet senses that there is someone behind the curtain, and stabs him and kills him (less)
