As reported in news, it does not cost too much money to make a fake card that looks real. Identity cards, driving licenses all have fakes floating around.

It may be all right if you just want to create a little bit of hurdle by asking to see a card. But it is harmful if you rely on the card for further actions. For example, by holding the person accountable for a contract, a loan or for any future fraud.
