Application of knee pathology

This application contains information of interest about knee pathology, ranging from injuries that can occur in childhood, to those that affect the adult patient.

It has been carried out and developed by Dr. Alberto Sánchez, specialist in Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery, of the Arthroscopy Unit of the Galdakao Hospital (Spain).

It is aimed at health professionals, students of medicine, nursing, physiotherapy; also general practitioners and specialists in Traumatology, Rehabilitation, Rheumatology, ..., because it contains both basic and advanced information, it is also useful as a quick reference tool for residents in training and for orthopedists specialized in arthroscopy and knee surgery.

Very useful for its use as a quick reference guide in Emergency Services.

It is also useful in patients, as a guide to practice consultation of available treatments, how to deal with the postoperative period of various interventions and help to perform rehabilitation exercises.

The content is divided into several sections, with sub-menus in each one of them, so that with 2 or 3 screen touches the desired information is accessed.

PRINCIPAL:

-Anatomy (surface anatomy, muscles, ligaments, arthroscopic anatomy, ...).

-Physical exploration (specific maneuvers for each pathology with explanatory illustrations.

- Image proofs (main diagnostic methods with images and with a section of NMR with visualization of the different projections with the names of the structures).

-Infiltrations (with illustrations of the different techniques depending on the pathology).

- Surgical approach routes (with the fundamental steps explained with images).

-Artroscopy (visual guide of the portals, fundamental steps, ...).

-Postoperators (by type of procedure).

-Rehabilitation (protocols and specific exercises for each muscle with illustrations).

-Knee questionnaires (knee test, with the possibility of calculating the result).

-Guides for patients (practical guides of the most frequent pathologies, their treatment, protocols and rehabilitation exercises, with illustrative drawings and explanations to facilitate their realization, as well as the possibility of downloading them in pdf or sending them by email to their patients).

INJURIES:

All knee pathology with illustrative images. Each pathology is divided into specific sections of diagnosis, treatment, surgical techniques, decision algorithms, ...

The most frequent knee pathologies in children have also been included.

The purpose of the application is to help resolve any doubts that may arise in daily clinical practice, as well as educate the patient about knee problems. We intend to serve as a reference for health professionals with a tool that includes the most relevant data of knee pathology, both basic and advanced.

I take this opportunity to encourage the use of the application to our Mexican, Central American and South American colleagues, since they have always expressed their interest in the other applications that I have developed (Shoulder and OrtoTrauma) and have shown us a special affection that, of course , it is reciprocated.
