If you are wondering how many words you need to learn, here is a guide to give you an idea about it.

A 500-to-1,000-word vocabulary will be enough for a simple basic conversation with a native speaker while traveling.

A 2,000-to-3,000-word active, easily retrievable vocabulary will be sufficient for everyday conversations on general topics.

With 5,000 words, you can watch films and read simple books in the original language.

The knowledge of 10,000 words, especially when you have good pronunciation, will not only allow you to travel and read fiction but also work or study abroad. That is vital if you plan to move to another country.

The app suggests that you learn ten words at a time – this is the optimal number of words that one should learn in a day. After that, you will be offered to revise the words that you have learned in the previous seven ten-word sets. Using the app, you can learn both the pronunciation (transcription) and spelling of the words. You can also choose the words that you want to learn.
