OUR HISTORY

In June 2007, the Valiyavila Foundation(Established and funded by Dr. Joseph D. Fernandez) bought Sree Saraswathee Central School in Chittumala, E. Kallada, and named it St. Joseph International School (SJIS), Chittumala, with about 43 students, situated in the old printing press building in Chittumala. Since the building was small, the Valiyavila Foundation bought some more land and corner stone of the current new school building was laid on Dec. 25, 2008 by Rev. Fr. Hubert M. Fernandez of Valiyavila family and the construction started. The new building was inaugurated in March 2010 by Honorable Minister Genesh Kumar. We received the NOC from Kerala Govt. on Sept. 7, 2012 for St. Joseph International School, Chittumala. We have now about 600 students enrolled. We follow the CBSE syllabus in Chittumala. Our first group passed the 10th with flying colours in 2014 – 2015. Our affiliation number is 931092.

St. Joseph International Academy (SJIA), A Senior Secondary School, Kumbalam, sponsored by Valiyavila Foundation, a charitable Trust, (Established and funded by Dr. Joseph D. Fernandez) was inaugurated on June 16, 2002 by Rt. Rev. Dr. Stanley Roman, Bishop of Kollam, Kerala State, India. It is an English Medium Residential and semi-residential school following the ICSE syllabus. It started with two kindergarten classes with 51 students. It was housed in an antique looking house with 3 rooms. The first registrations were done out of a Veranda of a neighbor’s house

The Valiyavila Foundation also acquired an aided school in Muttom, E. Kallada named NCMLPS Muttom from LKG to 4th standards and renamed it St. Joseph Model L.P. School, Muttom (SJMLPS). We have about 223 students. A new two storied building, a children’s park and an open stage were constructed for the school and were inaugurated by Dr. Joseph D. Fernandez and blessed by Rev. Fr. Hubert A. Fernandez on June 1, 2017.

We have a four storey hostel with over 45 rooms in the campus housing students and staff. We also have approval for a B. Ed College and TTC too.

OUR VISION

St. Joseph International Academy/School will strive tirelessly to produce at least one hundred (100) socially responsible leaders for India – leaders who are driven by sound moral character and flawless principles, – leaders that help to alleviate Indian social evils such as bribery, greed, duplicity, selfishness, abuse and mistreatment of women – leaders who will work with untiring commitment to improve the Indian social conditions without fear of social, personal and political consequences – leaders who will come from all walks of life,- leaders who will go and fertilize the whole of India like the rivers that freely flow and fertilize fully all plains of India. These leaders will be named “Messengers of Social Change holding the title of M.Sc.”

Our Moto is: ” Education Par Excellence”. These are French words meaning Excellence in Education.
