The term was inspired by NBA Hall of Fame inductee Julius “Dr. J” Erving, whose high-flying and almost balletic style of play was considered revolutionary in the 1970s. The Chicago Experience leverages the star-studded backdrop of NBA All-Star Weekend while harnessing the enthusiasm and energy of a poetic slam dunk to curate popular sights and sounds of the "Windy City” into a similarly spectacular occasion worthy of multiple selfies and social postings.
