An elevator by definition is a platform or an enclosure raised and lowered in a vertical shaft to

transport people and freight. The shaft contains the operating equipment, motor, cables, and

accessories. The elevator (or lift) is a type of vertical transport equipment that efficiently moves

people or goods between floors (levels, decks) of a building, vessel or other structures.

Elevators are a very useful & faster mode of transport inside a building, act as an alternative to

stairs. The time that was spent on climbing stairs is minimized considerably as elevators are an

incredibly faster way of transport within floors in a building. Another advantage of these elevators

is that they can carry people, animals, goods, heavy luggage, etc., which takes both time and

effort to be transported through stairs. It is defined as vertical equipment for transport, used to

commute individuals and goods within the building floors. People prefer using the elevator

because of the ease and convenience that they provide, making stairs a timely option.
