Energymeter Connect

Reading out the EDL electricity meter via IR read head and visualization of consumption

With the app "Energymeter Connect" the new modern EDL electric meters can be read with an infrared read / write head connected to the USB port of smartphone or tablet.

The app saves the meter readings and the consumption can be graphically visualized or sent by CSV file.

This app was tested with the IR read / write head by Weidmann Elektronik (https://shop.weidmann-elektronik.de/index.php?page=product&info=24). It should also work with any other USB IR read head (for example, https://wiki.volkszaehler.org/hardware/controllers/ir-schreib-lesekopf-usb-ausgang).

In addition, a USB / Micro-USB or USB / USB-C adapter is required to connect the reading head to the smartphone or table. (For example, available via Amazon)

Adapter and smartphone must be "OTG" compatible.

The app has been successfully tested with various power meters from the EMH, Landys and Gyr, and other manufacturers.

Note: Some meters do not provide all information in the factory settings. To obtain additional information (such as instantaneous power), a 4-digit PIN per flashlight must be entered once on the meter. These are normally available from your energy supplier.
