The Checker is Yorcard’s first mobile application.
It was originally designed for use by transport staff as a quick and easy way of confirming that over-60s bus passes were working correctly and had been encoded with the correct ITSO embodiments. After successful trials and gaining feedback from our customers, we added the ability to record details of the cards being scanned and provided a facility to upload these to a central computer. To take advantage of the upload feature, you need a Drop Box account, linked to your phone.
Location details are recorded along with each card scan, but can be disabled in the preferences.
If you would like to see additional features added to the application, please email us with the details. If we feel the suggestions would benefit all users, we will consider adding them to a future release, or we may offer to produce a custom version of the application for your organisation. Likewise, if you would like your own ‘branding’ on the application, we can provide this at a small cost.
If there are ITSO products or OIDs which this application doesn’t recognise explicitly, please email the details and we’ll incorporate them in the next release.
