Tales of Arise takes place in a solar system comprising two neighboring planets: Dahna and Rena. The inhabitants of Dahna have always revered their neighboring planet Rena, considering it a virtuous and divine land. But for the past 300 years, the people of Rena have ruled over Dahna, plundering the planet of its resources and depriving its inhabitants of their dignity and freedom.
