The Durga Kavach is a collection of shlokas from the Markandeya Purana, one of the 18 major Mahapuranas. These Sanskrit shlokas are an extremely potent shield narrated by Lord Brahma (Svayambhu) to the sage Markandaye for the benefit of mankind.
"Kavach" literally signifies from Sanskrit as ”armor.” It is said that a person who recites this prayer regularly and with devotion, is protected from all ills. The practitioner receives great fame, fortune, abundance, and fulfillment of all wishes.
