Some of the visionaries of Omassery pondered on the backwardness of education and cultural disillusionment prevailing on this remote and mountainous region called Omassery. They established the society called Al Irshad Charitable Society under the banner of Jamiyyathul Ansarul Muslimeen in 1986 – ie 29 years from hence. The Society initiated to set up educational institutions at different parts of the country, particularly in the backward areas. And finally, Al Irshad Educational Complex came into being at Thechiyad in 1999 and started functioning, heralding a new hope, vigour, and enlightenment in the region.
