Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) is one of the mandatory subjects for SD/MI, SMP/MTs, SMA/SMK/MA levels. PKKn is designed to produce students who have faith and noble morals as directed by the Indonesian philosophy of life, namely Pancasila, so that they can act as effective and responsible citizens. The discussion in its entirety includes Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

Pancasila and Citizenship Education learning is designed to be activity-based related to a number of citizenship themes which are expected to encourage students to become good citizens through concern for the problems and challenges faced by the surrounding community. This concern is shown in the form of active participation in developing communities related to students. The resulting competencies are no longer limited to the study of knowledge and skills in presenting results in the form of written work, but are more emphasized on the formation of real attitudes and actions that each student is capable of carrying out. In this way, an attitude of love and pride as an Indonesian nation will be formed.

This book describes the efforts that students must make to achieve the expected competencies. In accordance with the approach used in the 2013 Curriculum, students are invited to be brave in looking for other learning resources that are available and spread widely around them. The teacher's role in increasing and adapting students' absorption capacity to the availability of activities in this book is very important, teachers can enrich it by creating various forms of other appropriate and relevant activities originating from the social and natural environment.

The implementation of the 2013 curriculum from 2013 to 2015 has received a very positive response and very valuable input. This experience was used as optimally as possible in preparing the book for comprehensive implementation in the 2016/2017 academic year and beyond.

This book is the third edition as a refinement of the first edition and second edition. This book is very open and needs to be continuously improved upon. Therefore, we invite readers to provide criticism, suggestions and input for improvements and improvements in the next edition. For this contribution, we thank you. Hopefully we can provide the best for the progress of the world of education in order to prepare the golden generation for the centenary of Indonesia's Independence (2045).
