Lord Surya (the Supreme Light), also known as Aditya, Bhanu or Ravi, is the chief solar deity in Hinduism and generally refers to the Sun.

Surya is the chief of the Navagraha, the nine Indian Classical planets and important elements of Hindu astrology.
