Doenças Eletrônico Sistema de Alerta Precoce (eDEWS) no Iêmen

Electronic Diseases Early Warning System (eDEWS) is a program that works to provide weekly disease reports for 16 communicable diseases based on Standard Case Definitions from health facilities for early notification and immediate response using Internet Web System accessed by reporters in health facilities using mobile phones GPRS and/or any computer connected to internet.

eDEWS started in March 2013, in 4 Governorates (Aden, Taiz, Lahj and Abyan) with 94 health facilities, and expanded to new 6 Governorates (Sanaa Capital, Hodeida, Hajja, Saada, Ibb and Hadramout) in Oct. 2013. The program now works with total of 247 health facilities in 10 Governorates.

As a result of the weekly reports, eDEWS program produce Weekly Reports (Bulletins) that summaries the submitted reports from health facilities in a readable format, showing the alerts raised, the actions responded and if any outbreaks are detected due to field investigations.
