A cryptopuzzle is a type of puzzle that consists of a short piece of encrypted text. Generally the cipher used to encrypt the text is simple enough that the cryptogram can be solved by hand. Substitution ciphers where each letter is replaced by a different letter or number are frequently used. To solve the puzzle, one must recover the original lettering.

Players are given the task to solve an encrypted sentence. The way to solve it is by substituting a letter with another letter, for example replacing the letter P with the letter A, or replacing the letter X with the letter K. The way it works is quite easy, for example there is an encrypted word that is "XWKAQOQZZG". By changing the letter X to J, W to U, K to R, A to N, Q to A, O to L, Z to P, and G to S, the real word is read, which is "JURNALAPPS".

There is a Hints system to help players show the letter solution or show which letter is wrong. However, it is advisable not to use these hints because the fun of the game is to successfully unlock the secret behind the encryption of the sentences without anyone's help.
