Please note: this is a personal project, as stated in the Hackster project page. Therefore the app could be buggy or not be updated for long times, depending on the developer availability.

Create your custom home automation system with Arduino and control it via network!

Homotica allows you to simply attach devices to your board and control them over Wi-Fi or mobile network from your mobile device, using UDP communication protocol. Use the Tasker plugin receive events whenever a command is sent or to control every device you have attached to the board!

Features:

• Define devices and control buttons directly in the app;

• Create Scenes to effortlessly run multiple actions at once;

• Use custom voice command to manage your devices;

• Tasker integration with Events and Settings plugins.

Components required:

• An Arduino Board (Arduino Uno, Arduino Mega…);

• Arduino Ethernet Shield – if your board already has an Ethernet port (i.e. Arduino YUN, Arduino Ethernet…) you do not need this;

• A relay board, if you plan to attach any sort of load to the system (such as lamps, wall sockets, or anything else, which requires more than the Arduino-provided 5 volts);

To make the app run properly, just download and install Arduino sketch code from:

If you are new to the Arduino world, consider reading Arduino online documentation before proceeding.

DISCLAIMER

The app does not use encryption – for now. Even if it is barely possible, someone with bad intentions could reach your Arduino and gain control over the devices you attached to it. So be aware of this.

Moreover, the physical installation requires you to enter in contact with high-voltage cables and potentially dangerous items; if you are not able in this sort of thing, or have any doubts, let you help by someone able.
