About Bird Data - Ecuador

A field guide for birds of Ecuador, with scientific info, photos, sounds, maps

Bird Data - Ecuador is a field guide for the birds of Ecuador, including the Galapagos Islands. It has taxonomic, range, subspecies, and other information for over 1600 species of birds found in Ecuador, the country with the most species of birds by area. Included are Ecuador-centered range maps for all species. Directly downloadable into the application are 1800 photos of 1638 species, and over 2600 bird songs and bird calls.

Media (images and sounds) can be downloaded individually. Photos, sounds (new) and maps can also be downloaded in bulk. Bird species can be navigated through taxonomy or native language (English or Spanish).

Also included is a map feature that ties into the eBird Hot Spot and sighting database. See where your target species have been seen recently, or explore sightings at nearby locations.

The latest release has a sound recorder for recording bird calls and field notes.

The application is free, but a donation is appreciated.
