The Cranberries were formed in Limerick, Ireland in 1990 by 2 brothers Noel and Mike Hogan with Fergal Lawler. Dolores O'Riordan managed to escape auditions as a vocalist after the band's first vocalist resigned.

Their first album EVERYBODY ELSE IS DOING IT, SO WHY CAN NOT WE? released in 1993 followed by promo tour which then paved the way for them. While in the tour that, MTV interested in their single and then show their video clip.

But their second album NO NEED TO ARGUE was the one who then reap the results. Album containing the single Zombie and Ode to My Family was successfully won triple platinum in just 1 year. This album is the album The Cranberries the highest sales figures. NO NEED TO ARGUE has sold nearly 17 million copies worldwide and won 7 platinum.

The Cranberries has released 6 studio albums with WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE as the last album they released 2001 yesterday. In 2003 yesterday, The Cranberries decided to vacuum for a while because the personnel are still preoccupied by their solo careers respectively. The plan The Cranberries will soon release one more album this year 2008.
