Anubhav is designed to facilitate PWDs to enrol in electoral rolls and voting

The Election Commission of India has declared 2018 as the Year of Accessible Elections. The Commission held National Consultation on Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities( PWDs) in Electoral Processes following State Consultations. Of the many outcomes that came out of the churning of this was the idea of developing an application that would be specially designed to facilitate the Persons With Disabilities in primarily two facets of their interface with election process: electoral registration and voting.

The ANUBHAV app is designed with these objectives in perspective. It attempts to proffer a wide bouquet of benefits to the persons with Special Needs. It informs. It helps register in electoral rolls and it helps understand the voting process. It also helps citizens connect, give suggestions and feedbacks so that the system is able to reciprocate and improve.

Making an application that attempts to take into consideration the diverging needs of a person with disability is an arduous task and a challenge that is worth having: anubhav means empathy. It is exciting to see the extent to which we are able to live up to this challenge.
