About Ampere Pro

Measure the charging and discharging current of the battery

Disclaimer : The Ampere Pro app uses a software algorithm that retrieves information about battery condition, battery charge and discharge current, and battery quality! All parameters are only used to help users refer to the battery quality and charging status of the device!

Have you ever felt that one charger/USB cable charges your device really fast and the other one doesn't? Now, you can prove it with Ampere Pro.

Measure the charging and discharging current of the battery.

1 Displays detailed information and battery status

2 Measure the charging and discharging current of the battery

3 Displays the battery charge graph over time

4 Displays the current battery status after a period of use, how much % is left compared to the original (Similar on IOS devices)

Not every device is supported because there are devices that lack the appropriate measurement chip (or interface) and they cannot be supported. Please read the list of unsupported phones at the bottom of the description.

Application is not meant to be exact mA. It's only good to evaluate which Charger/USB cable combo works best for you on the same device.

After connecting the device to the charger the charge or discharge current will be displayed.

Currently depends on many things:

- Charger (USB / AC / Wireless)

- USB cable

- Type of phone

- The task is currently running

- Screen brightness

- WiFi status

- GPS status

Please do not use the readings on this application as a specific science. However, the readings are good enough to roughly measure how different chargers and USB cables perform on the same device.

If the app shows 0mA all the time, please use the "Old measurement method" setting. You can force the app to use the old measurement interface, if the Lollipop device has at least one.

Unfortunately, some phone devices do not provide an exact (measured) value (e.g. S5), just the maximum possible charging current with the actual USB cable/charger configuration. This is a firmware issue.

Ampere Pro has been improved to support many Android devices, with many Chinese brands also being handled.

----

Basic information: The application measures the charge/discharge current of the battery. If your phone is not connected to a charger, you will see a negative discharge current. If you connect a charger, the current provided by the charger will be used to supply your phone and the remaining energy will be charged to the battery.

If your phone consumes 300 mA without a charger connected (-300mA on display), then a 500 mA charger will charge your battery at maximum with 200 mA current (200mA displayed).

----

Technical information: The current displayed is the average value from 50 measurements minus the 10 upper and 10 lower values. The displayed current may be shaky or unstable or even zero, which means the Android system provides unstable values. Each company uses different batteries and different hardware making it difficult to get accurate results about your charger.
