Founded on August 13, 1966, in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian Psychiatric Association (ABP) has over 50 years of experience and a history of struggles and achievements in favor of psychiatry in Brazil. Dedicated to the scientific, public, and social development of the medical specialty that treats mental illness, the ABP has centers in every Brazilian state and several specialized departments.
