We present to you the Old Tales app.

These are 252 Russian folk tales from the first half of the 19th century, systematized by Alexander Nikolaevich Afanasyev and accompanied by extensive scholarly commentary.

At first glance, fairy tales seem to be invented stories for entertainment, but old tales contain great folk wisdom in encrypted "fairytale" form for the transmission of this knowledge to future generations. Several semantic layers are revealed upon delving deeper into the tale. The educational value of fairy tales for children is also important. As Afanasyev himself wrote: "Children listen to them more readily than to any moral tales and stories."

In addition, there are scary tales, folk anecdotes, jokes, and boring tales.
