Seven Military Classics of Ancient China

Chinese strategic and military thought dates back some 5,000 years.Ancient Chinese clan chiefs fought to establish dominance and create dynasties. Not until the Shang dynasty, which came to power in 1766 B.C, that the "Seven Military Classics" is established. Its vast, central theocracy rested on the nobility’s military prowess. Society had four classes: the ruling elite, the royal family, slaves and commoners, mostly serfs. The military bureaucracy headed a royal army of about a thousand soldiers–or more as needed.

The "Seven Military Classics" originally consists of:

- “T’ai Kung’s Six Secret Teachings”

- “The Methods of the Si-ma” 

- Sun-tzu’s “Art of War”

- Wu-tzu

- Wei Liao-tzu

- “Three Strategies of Huang Shih-kung”

- “Questions and Replies Between T’ang T’ai-tsung and Li Wei-kung”

But I have choose to change the "Sun Tzu's Art of War" to "36 Stratagems" as I already have another application on "Sun Tzu's Art of War" itself.
