Durango: Wild Lands devotees have been eagerly anticipating news regarding Nexon’s forthcoming MMORPG, Project DX. Originally believed to be a survival and crafting game similar to its predecessor, anticipation has been high since its first introduction in August 2021. Though the development process has encountered several challenges, updates are predicted to be unveiled soon.

At a recent event, Nexon CEO Lee Jung-heon announced that the development of Project DX is ongoing, although progress has been slower compared to other projects like Project DW. Nonetheless, Lee Jung-heon promised that additional details about Project DX would be released 'in the not too distant future.'
The game is founded on the same intellectual property as Durango, which was terminated in the latter part of 2019. In November 2022, Nexon confirmed that the project was in progress. However, over the past two years, the development team has remained silent regarding any significant updates as fans awaited eagerly.
Together with the game announcement, a preview trailer for Project DX was released some years ago showing similarities with the original game. It is my speculation that Nexon may be planning to share more updates during their upcoming G-STAR 2024 event, giving fans something to anticipate. However, this is merely speculation and should be taken with a grain of salt.
As fans of Durango continue to hope for the delivery of a similar gaming experience with Project DX, the repeated delays have put their patience to the test. Rumors of a potential January 2025 release were spread earlier this year, but with the recent slowdowns, it appears improbable.
