Indian Railways Launches SwaRail App on Android

Simplify your train travel with SwaRail, the official super-app by Indian Railways!

The Indian Railways has launched SwaRail on February 8, 2025, a new "super app" designed to consolidate various railway services into a single, user-friendly platform. Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), this app aims to streamline the travel experience by integrating multiple functionalities previously available on separate applications.

Currently in beta testing on both Android and iOS, SwaRail seeks to simplify everything from ticket booking to grievance reporting.

What is SwaRail App?

SwaRail is an all-in-one mobile application that integrates multiple public-facing services of Indian Railways1. It eliminates the need to juggle between different apps for various railway-related tasks. The goal is to provide a unified platform where users can access all essential services, making train travel more convenient and efficient. SwaRail is designed to be a one-stop solution for booking tickets, checking PNR status, ordering food, and more.

How to Use SwaRail

Download the App: SwaRail is currently available in beta on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. However, note that the Android beta testing slots may be full.
Login or Register: You can either log in using your existing Rail Connect or UTS Mobile credentials, or register as a new user. Using existing credentials will sync your past travel details into the app.
Explore the App: After logging in, you can explore the various services and features offered by SwaRail.

How to Download SwaRail on Android

Here's how to download the SwaRail app on Android using the Google Play Store and APKPure:

Method 1: Google Play Store

Open Google Play Store: On your Android device, open the Google Play Store app.
Search for SwaRail: Type "SwaRail" in the search bar and tap enter.
Select the App: Find the official SwaRail app in the search results and tap on it.
Install the App: Click the "Install" button to download and install the app.
Open and Register: Once installed, open the app and complete the registration process. You can log in using existing Rail Connect or UTS Mobile credentials, or create a new account.

Note: As of early February 05, the beta testing program on the Google Play Store may be full. If this is the case, you may need to wait for slots to open up. Avoid downloading from unofficial third-party sources.

Method 2: APKPure

Go to APKPure: On your Android device, go to the APKPure website or open the APKPure app.
Search for SwaRail: Type "SwaRail" in the search bar and tap enter.
Find the SwaRailApp on APKPure: Locate the official SwaRail app in the search results.
Download the SwaRail APK: Ensure that it is the latest version, then click the "Download APK" button to download the APK file.

Install the SwaRail APK: You may need to allow installation from unknown sources in your device’s security settings. Open the downloaded APK file and tap "Install" to install the app.
Open the App: Launch the app and begin using its features.

Unified Ticketing: Book reserved and unreserved tickets, and purchase platform tickets all in one place.
PNR Status: Check your booking status, train schedules, and seat availability. The app also displays related train information.
Real-time Train Tracking: Track your train with live updates on delays and expected arrival times.
Food Ordering: Order food from partner vendors and have it delivered during your journey.
Rail Madad: Register complaints and track their resolution through the app.
R-Wallet: Make secure and convenient payments using the integrated R-Wallet, which is compatible with UPI.
Parcel and Freight Inquiries: Make inquiries about parcel and freight services.
Coach Position Finder: Locate your coach on the platform for easier boarding.
Single Sign-On: Access multiple railway services with a single set of credentials, enhancing security and ease of use. Multiple login options, including m-PIN and biometric authentication, are available.
